Nice article. But I’m of the view that you should spend some time to create a CATCHY and KEYWORDS RICH Description Meta Tag. It might be the case that Meta Tags are no more important to Google or Other Search Engines. BUT Meta Tags are still very important for SERP(Search Engine Result Page) optimization.
